Kal Mansur's works are compelling hybrids of painting and sculpture. The Knapped artworks are pigmented and carved epoxy slabs. Mansur pours liquid resin and uses time and temperature to create layered mounds of colour. Using a milling machine, he carves into the slab, creating topographies and excavating layers of colour. These elaborate processes result in an ethereal, translucent object, appearing to be a relic excavated from the future. View series here.
